“The reason mountain climbers are tied together is to keep the sane ones
from going home.”
I don’t know who said that, or where or when
But with a mountain of mercy behind me and a mountain of mission ahead
I need you my brother, my sister,
I need to be tied to you and you need me too.
We need each other to keep from bolting
Fleeing in panic and returning to the “sanity”
of unbelief.
Wise words, whoever said them.
They are in my Bible under Hezekiah 6:14.

“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. . . . Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:12 & 27, NIV1984)
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” (Romans 12:4-5, NIV1984)
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
(1 Corinthians 12:7, NIV1984)
Though there is no Hezekiah 6:14 other than in a poem, we are indeed bound together in the body of Christ. God has designed that the work of Christ continue through the church . . . not as we work together as individuals . . . rather as we individually and corporately surrender to Christ as Lord of our lives and Head of His Body . . . then we will experience God together as the power of the Holy Spirit is manifested though us. May it be so . . .
